CoOp Supermarket (Salads & Groceries)
When wandering the city center mid-day, skip the panini and pizza and overpriced sit-down lunches and head to the CoOp grocery store. Particularly, the store located near the Pantheon and Piazza Navona, offers a great salad station, along with a full deli with meats, cheeses and olives. The salads are huge, start at around 3.5 Euros, and are handed over in a take-away container (which you can recycle in any of the plastic recycling stations around the city). Split one between two people, grab a baguette and a frizzette water and head for a fountain for a healthy and quick lunch al fresco.
Since you’re saving so much on the salad, splurge on a small container of the assorted olives
