Never worked with a travel agent? That’s okay, because we work differently.
As certified travel designers, we develop Cohica designed trips and custom designed travel experiences centered around culture, learning, nature and food. Unlike traditional travel agents, we work independently and are not tied to big hotel chains, cruise ships or large-group tour providers. This means we have complete flexibility to design trips that are inspired and unique, while accessing the same low rates.
Custom designed travel experiences Our custom travel experiences are designed especially for you based on your travel style, interests, dates, destination, and budget. How it works:
Contact uswith the basics of your travel plan: destination(s), travel dates, interests, budget, and any “must do’s.” If you'd like, we’re happy to schedule a short video chat to learn more about you and your trip and travel style. Based on the information you've provided, we'll put together a trip outline with a few ideas for you to consider.
Once you review the outline, you tell us If you'd like to move forward. If the answer is yes, we'll design a completely unique custom travel plan that includes hotel recommendations, transportation options, experiences and activities, recommended sights, personal restaurant recommendations, and an overall price estimate within the budget you've provided.
The cost for your customized travel plan is $100 for one destination, $150 for two destinations, or $200 for more than two destinations. For groups exceeding 4 people, there will be a $25 fee per additional traveler. Please contact us for an example of a custom travel plan.
At this point you have two options. (1) Book your whole trip through Cohica based on the price estimate provided in your travel plan and we’ll secure, manage and confirm all your reservations. We'll also provide support and information on what to expect and will be available for any questions you might have during your trip. Or (2) use the travel plan to make your own reservations and book your trip independently.
If you choose to book through Cohica, we’ll collect a non-refundable deposit (75% of your total trip cost) and secure your reservations. After your trip is completely booked, we’ll send you a final invoice for the remaining balance along with your complete itinerary, confirmation numbers and all of the information you'll need to travel.
As certified travel designers, we often have access to unpublished rates on hotels and activities. So while we do charge a small fee, it usually ends up paying for itself based on the discounts we can secure on your behalf. This fee, 10% (plus a 2.9% processing fee if paying by credit card), provides the time and flexibility for us to thoughtfully design a unique travel experience specifically for you. At times we also earn a small commission from some travel suppliers (hotel partners, activity providers, etc). However, unlike traditional travel agents, we’re not tied to any corporate suppliers, allowing us to seek out independent and non-mainstream activities to better connect you to the places you visit. Throughout the booking process, we clearly communicate all of the costs associated with your trip so you always know where your money is going.
