The Trip

Experience the incredible cultures and cuisines of three European capitals with this 10-day Designed Trip to London, Paris and Amsterdam. Choosing between Boutique and Luxury Boutique experiences (see below), your trip starts in London. With its palaces, jewels, pop culture and history that dates back to the Romans, you’ll see the historic city from multiple angles; up at the top of England’s tallest building, all the way down to the notorious streets of Brick Lane once haunted by Jack the Ripper, and through the eyes of local guides. In Paris, eat your way through French cuisine on a food tour of Montmatre, climb the Eiffel Tower and enjoy a gourmet dinner aboard a luxury river cruise. See the Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo with your own eyes, make Parisian macarons with your own hands and eat all the croissants you can manage. Continue to your final stop amongst the picturesque canals of Amsterdam where you’ll tour the city on a Dutch barge, cruise the countryside on Dutch bikes, see Van Gogh’s masterpieces up close, eat Dutch specialties and visit Anne Frank’s house.

The Itinerary

---

London

• Day 1: Welcome to London! This vibrant capital city expertly blends modern culture and arts with history that dates back nearly 2,000 years to 47AD when Britain was invaded by the Romans . Check in to your hotel and get settled. It’s been a long journey, so enjoy a relaxed dinner (fish & chips, perhaps?!) before calling it a night.
• Day 2: ​Wake up to your first full day in jolly ol’ England. Enjoy a relaxed ‘full English’ breakfast (or ‘fry up’) before meeting your guide for a bike tour of the city’s highlights. Get some fresh air, history, and a little exercise as you ride along bike lanes, cobbled streets, riverside pathways and park routes, with stops at key sites like the London Eye, Big Ben. Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, and more. Have a relaxed afternoon exploring the shops and cafes of the historic Soho and Covent Garden before dinner at one of London’s world-class restaurants, and maybe a show in the West End.
• Day 3: On your last full day in London, it’s time to dive into the city's extensive and rich history. In the morning, see the Crown Jewels and learn more about England’s tumultuous past on a guided tour of the Tower of London. For lunch, head to Borough Market, London’s famous covered food market, before getting an incredible view of the city from the top of the UK’s tallest building, the Shard. Alternatively, stay closer to the earth with a trip on the London Eye, Europe’s largest ferris wheel. In the evening, meet your local guide in Brick Lane for a walk back in time where you’ll meet England’s most infamous serial killer, Jack the Ripper. Settle your nerves with a tasty pint or two in a historic pub before calling it a night.

Paris

• Day 4: Cheerio, London! Head to the beautiful King’s Cross St Pancras station to board your high-speed Eurostar train to Paris. In just 2 hours you’ll be in Paris, surrounded by fine art, history, culture and incomparable French cuisine. Check into your boutique hotel before meeting your private guide for an introductory tour of Paris from a local’s perspective. Head to a bar for a glass or two of wine before enjoying a delicious dinner at one of the city’s many outstanding restaurants.
• Day 5: You’ll only need a light breakfast today. Grab a quick croissant and coffee as you’re off to tour the best eateries of Montmatre with a local guide. Historically home to artists such as Picasso and Dalí, the district is now known for street artists, buskers, artisan food shops, and cabaret halls, including the iconic Moulin Rouge. Taste local delicacies including macarons, crêpes, cheeses, french breads and wine as you explore the beautiful streets. In the afternoon, head up to the very top of Paris’ iconic Eiffel Tower for beautiful views across the city. In the evening, step aboard a luxury Bateaux Parisiens river boat. Sip champagne as you watch the sun set on the City of Love and wait for your 3-course gourmet dinner to be served.
• Day 6: Rise and shine to a warm cup of coffee and a buttery croissant. Mid-morning, make your way over to one of the world’s most impressive museums, the Musée du Louvre. Your guide will take you through the former palace to see unmissable masterpieces such as the Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo. After lunch, you can choose between two experiences; take a guided tour of Paris’ famous catacombs, exploring the underground tunnel system that is home to the bones of more than 6 million Parisians, dating back to the 18th century; or head to the cozy kitchens of a private French cooking school to learn the art of baking the traditional Parisian macaron. The rest of the day can be spent however feels right. Either continue to explore, or make your way back to your hotel for a little R&R before dinner.

Amsterdam

• Day 7: Have a slow, buttery, pastry-full French breakfast before making your way back to Paris’ Gare du Nord to hop on a high-speed train to Amsterdam. Check in to your boutique hotel before taking a walk around the city’s vibrant Jordaan district, famous for beautiful shops, cafes, restaurants and galleries. As the evening sets in, board a classic wooden saloon Dutch boat and watch the city pass by as your guide introduces you to the city, all while you sip delicious wine and nibble on pre-dinner snacks. 
• Day 8: Grab a hot, strong coffee with a Pannakoeken (Dutch pancake) or two before meeting your guide for a countryside bicycle tour. Ride your way out of the city to cycle over dams and dykes, cruise through farmland, stop for a taste of the (self-proclaimed) world’s best apple pie, see the world-famous Dutch windmills and tour picturesque villages as you hear about the city’s unbreakable relationship with the countryside. Back in the city, the afternoon is yours to do as you please. See some European masterpieces, including Rembrandts and Hals’, on a tour of Rijksmuseum with a local, or take a stroll through the De Negen Straatjes district, the heart of Amsterdam’s canal belt with lots of beautiful shops and restaurants.
• Day 9: After breakfast, head to the Van Gogh museum for a deep-dive into the life of the world-famous post-Impressionist Dutch painter, featuring his many self-portraits and masterpieces such as Sunflowers. For lunch, there’s nowhere better than the Foodhallen where you’ll have the chance to try lots of local specialties, including Bitterballen (crispy meatballs), Broodje Haring (herring sandwich) and Jenever (a juniper-flavored spirit). Make your way to the Anne Frank museum where you’ll learn about the German-born Jewish diarist with an introductory talk before exploring the house and annex in which she and her family hid from the Nazis. You’ll even get to see her original red-checked diary, the first of her many notebooks where she detailed her story. On your final evening in Europe, head out for canal-side drinks and a delicious Dutch dinner in one of the many world-class restaurants of Amsterdam.

• Day 10: Enjoy your last European breakfast and savor the morning. It’s time to head back to reality, so head to the airport and hop on the plane for a flight home.
