Bangkok Mass Transit System (BTS)
Bangkok is a large and sprawling city with a fantastic public transportation system. Before you hop in a taxi, check out the BTS (Bangkok Mass Transit System) map. The elevated skytrain consists of two lines that together span over 22 miles. The Sukhumvit Line runs north and east, while the Silom Line runs along the city’s central business district. The two lines intersect at the Siam Station, one of the 34 stations overall. The skytrain isn’t just the sustainable choice, it’s also a fantastic way to experience everyday life in Bangkok. Check out our blog post on Bangkok.
Jump on the BTS around 6pm and get a feel for rush hour as commuters make their way home.
The system's stations are elevated and constructed on three levels that are accessed by escalators from the street
($) For single-trips, fares are calculated according to distance, but adult / student / senior passes for limited / unlimited train rides are also available.
