The Itinerary

The Dolomites
  • Day 1: Benvenuti a Italia! Hop in your rental car and drive north before reaching Val Gardena, located in the province of South Tyrol, nestled south of Austria in the Italian Alps. This stunning region is nature at its best - with clear glacial lakes, dense forests, alpine meadows, picturesque hamlets and (of course!) the rocky outcrops and jagged peaks that make the area so famous. Check in to your boutique mountain lodge and get settled.
  • Day 2: After breakfast, meet your local e-bike guide who will lead you along the trails of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Dolomites, showing you the breathtaking natural spectacle of Val Gardena. The afternoon is yours to do whatever feels right. Maybe a hike to work up an appetite before a delicious dinner?
  • Day 3: Today is completely free to explore the area. Choose to stay closeby, or if you’re up for some driving, explore a few more of the Dolomite’s most famous sites, such as Passo Gardena or Passo Sella. Both passes are especially beautiful at golden hour, if you want to catch the famous ‘alpenglow.’ In the evening, head back to your hotel for a dip in the pool and a sauna sesh ahead of your travel day tomorrow.

Lake Garda
  • Day 4: After a leisurely breakfast, pack up and check out of your hotel. Hop in the car for the scenic ~2.5 hour drive to Lake Garda. Along the way, you may want to stop at one (or more!) of the beautiful locations on your route, such as Trostburg Castle, Canale and Varone Waterfall, or choose to stop off for a wine tasting. Check into your lakeside hotel before heading out for dinner.
  • Day 5: After breakfast, hop in the car and drive to the incredible Sirmione peninsula on the southern shore of the lake. Meet your captain for a half day on the water. Cruise along the lake’s glassy water, stopping to see the most beautiful sites before docking on the picturesque peninsula of Punta San Vigilio for lunch and to explore the town.
  • Day 6: Today, you’ll make your way to a nearby winery where you’ll meet a traditional truffle hunter and their trained dog before heading into the woods in search of the elusive black truffle of Valpolicella. After the hunt, enjoy a traditional lunch in the shade of a walnut tree alongside the winery’s famous Amarone wine. Your final afternoon in Lake Garda is yours to explore.

Prosecco
  • Day 7: Settle in for the short drive to the region of Prosecco. Take your time on the drive, stopping at various sights along the way as the mountains giveaway to vineyards. After a day of exploration, check in to your hotel, take in the peacefulness of the countryside, relax and exhale.
  • Day 8: Spend a half or full day tasting prosecco along the incredibly scenic Strada del Prosecco. Winding between terraced vineyards perched on steep slopes, the famous road stretches between the towns of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene. Along the ~20 miles, large producers and small, family-run wineries produce crisp Prosecco using the same traditional methods as they did 200 years ago.

Venice
  • Day 9: Take to the road for the final time as you head to Venice. Drop the car and hop in your water taxi - Welcome to the floating city of Venice! With 177 winding canals, 417 bridges, and gothic palaces around every corner, there’s nowhere else in the world like it. Drop your luggage before heading out to meet your private guide to learn about the most important landmarks of Venice while stopping along the way to taste some of Venice’s most traditional foods before a relaxing dinner.
  • Day 10: The morning is yours to do as you please. Head out and explore this historic city, take a ride on the city’s vaporetti - water buses - and visit the unmissable sights. In the afternoon, head to the Doge’s Palace, the former residence of the Doge of Venice - an ornate palace with duke's rooms, a prison & armory.
  • Day 11: Midmorning, walk to the center to meet your guide for a group tour of Murano and Burano islands. Cruise the Venice lagoon to Murano, where traditional glass blowing has taken place for centuries, before moving on to Burano, which is famous worldwide for its intricate lace making. Meet the craftspeople on both islands and enjoy time to explore both islands on your own. In the evening, hit up one of the city’s trendy bacari (wine bars) for a glass of vino before sitting down to your final dinner in the city.
  • Day 12: Wake up for your final breakfast overlooking ancient Venetian canals. Check out of your hotel and head to the airport for your flight back home.

FAQs

WHAT IS A DESIGNED TRIP?
A Designed Trip is a pre-designed travel plan based on our personal, first-hand travel experiences in each destination. As they are pre-designed, our Designed Trips have been created as a turnkey travel option and can be booked and delivered in as little as one week.
CAN I MAKE ANY CHANGES TO A DESIGNED TRIP?
Absolutely! Pre-designed doesn’t mean there isn’t any flexibility. Whether you want to shorten or lengthen your trip, switch out a destination or change an activity, let us know. If, however, you want a trip built around your specific desires, a Custom Trip might be more appropriate. We can help you decide, so get in touch.
HOW LONG DOES THE PROCESS TAKE?
Once you’ve selected your Designed Trip and chosen between a Boutique, Luxury Boutique or Luxury experience, your trip can be booked and delivered in as little as one week. If you would like to make some changes to your trip, such as including an alternative activity, shortening or lengthening your trip, then this can take a bit longer.
HOW DO I KNOW HOW MUCH MY DESIGNED TRIP WILL COST?
Once you have decided on your Designed Trip, your dates, and any adjustments we will provide a personalized itinerary and pricing for your trip. We have included base pricing on each Designed Trip page to give you an idea as to what the final cost might be, but prices can fluctuate depending on time of year and any personalization. Get in touch and we can help.
