Plaza de BolivarLocated in the heart of Bogota’s centro historico, Plaza de Bolivar is truly the center of the Colombian government. On the northern side, the Palace of Justice, home to the Colombian Supreme Court. And on the southern side resides the National Capitol, which is the seat of the Colombian Congress. In the middle, a statue of Simon Bolivar sculpted in 1846, the first ever public monument in the city. Plaza de Bolivar is both a historical and political must see when visiting Bogota and great jumping off point for a day exploring the beautiful La Candelaria.
