The Reunification Express Train

The train from Hue to Hanoi (the Reunification Express) is a memorable 14-hour travel adventure. Sure, there are some seriously strange smells, the bathroom requires half a bottle of hand sanitizer, and Vietnamese pop music competes (at full volume) with crying from the soap opera on TV, but the experience as a whole (beautiful scenery and gentle pace) is a must when visiting Vietnam. • We prefer the soft seats and a daytime journey, since the sleeping berths aren’t exactly up to European standards
