Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum

A prison during the Khmer Rouge regime in the late 1970’s, the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum tells the story of the atrocities committed during this tragic period. Formerly a high school, Tuol Sleng is located in the urban center of Phnom Penh with dozens of classrooms turned prison cells turned museum displays that show how horrific of a place it truly was in hopes that it may be avoided in the future. Although a very difficult place to visit, Tuol Sleng is a must when in Phnom Penh.
