“Whether experiential travel is a term you’ve heard before or not, the phenomenon is redefining where we go and how. As more and more travelers crave immersive itineraries, hospitality and tourism companies are working overtime to design specialized activities that meet this demand….” Travel + Leisure, December 2017 In the 2.5 years since we left our jobs to travel the world, we’ve visited nearly 30 new countries, wandered through countless new cities, moved to Europe and planned a wedding in Tuscany. When we think back about the most life-changing, awe-inspiring moments, they can nearly always be attributed to the people we’ve met along the way. That’s why when we launched Cohica Designed Trips in 2016, we reached out to our network of friends and partners around the world to develop the same kind of cultural, food, and learning experiences that have inspired us. The result? Personally designed trips to locations we’ve visited, that include our recommendations for things to see, eat and do, as well as unique experiences often developed directly with our contacts. We also started planning custom trips, developing experiential itineraries based on each traveler’s personal interests and passion. All in support of our mission to better connect travelers to the places they visit. In addition to custom travel and Cohica Designed Trips, we’ll be launching a third type of travel experience in the next few weeks. Our first 'Live Like an Expat' experience will be an independent trip to visit our city, Valencia, Spain, from a local’s perspective. It will include an apartment in the historic El Carmen neighborhood (where we live) and participation in cultural and food experiences with our personal contacts. On the first day, we'll meet travelers for a coffee or wine and provide a local’s guide to our favorite restaurants, cafes, and sights to see. From there on, we’ll meet up as much or little as each traveler wants, but always keeping in touch to ensure they’re truly experiencing expat life. Stay tuned - 'Live Like an Expat' in Valencia is coming soon! In the meantime, if you want to...
